Ella drew a dolphin (complete with fins and blowhole) and then allowed Liam to scribble all over it with her - thank goodness I caught a picture first! But I am so glad that she is willing to share her creative space...

Ella and Liam bonded a lot this summer. Liam really enjoys tackling and snuggling his sister and sitting on the couch with his hand in her hair. She tolerates it, encourages it and sometimes rejects it, but most of all, is a great big sis.

Running

Ella loves to run and has a healthy competitive spirit. It'll be fun to see how this develops over the years...

Cousin Matthew

My nephew Matthew from Alaska lived with us this summer while taking classes in Summer Programs. The kids were wild about him and he was awesome with them. Liam, who has always had a hair fetish, was particularly fond of Matthew for his long, flowing locks, and Ella was very excited to have Matthew babysit and put her to bed. We really appreciated our time with him.

Summer at Choate

Once we'd returned from NC, it was time for Choate Summer Programs to start. Though Will and I were both teaching, we spent lots of time out in the yard, taking advantage of the green grass, the swings and the sandbox.
