Ella playing soccer

Ella has had four or five soccer practices now and has definitely learned some new skills, but has also demonstrated her age during many of the drills as she wanders or just drifts off into her own little world and let's soccer happen around her. I have decided that I am going to have to ask the coaches never to assign her to the team wearing pinneys, because she can never concentrate on anything else once she's wearing one. It becomes her sole focus for the next 15 minutes. Too funny. Here are some priceless pics of our little soccer stud.

Liam does not enjoy the sensation of sand between his toes. He stands there, with lifted foot and a look of great consternation, waiting for someone to clean it off. We're hoping to rid him of this behavior before the end of the summer...

A trip to Nantucket

For spring long weekend, we headed off to the vacation house of some good friends on Nantucket. It was quite an adventure, with four adults, four children and three dogs, and a wonderful experience. Ella and her best friend, Casey, had lots of good playtime, especially on the beach. Though it was about 50 degrees out and windy, these two girls spent two days playing on the beach and, of course, in the chilly water. As the adults wore jeans and fleece, the three-year-olds preferred different attire - i.e. none. It was quite a show!
