Back to the beach

Ella was very brave and bold in the ocean. She wanted to ride the waves with all the adults and withstood some very high surf (thanks to her dad, who in one photo is totally submerged, holding her up above his head).

Playing in the pool!

The house had its own pool as well, which was great to alternate with the beach. There was always plenty to do!

More OBX

We did a lot of game playing (Guess Who was a big favorite) and walking to and from the beach...

On the beaches of the Outer Banks

Our adventures took us all the way down to Duck, NC, where the Morris family had rented a house for a week. We had a fantastic time - lots of sand and sun on the beach, great swimming and wave-diving in the ocean, and excellent meals and company back at the compound.

Family

Isn't it amazing how kids can just tell when they're with family? Ella and Liam made an instant connection with Ray and Jane and got comfortable in a hurry! It was a wonderful and very memorable visit.

New discoveries

Ella and Liam both loved buying fresh crabs, checking Ray and Jane's crab cages, picking home-grown produce and just enjoying a break from the car!

A trip to Tilghman

So I am finally getting back to the blog after what feels like years... Once we got going with summer travels and then Choate summer programs, we just couldn't keep up, but I'll attempt a catch-up now!
For our trip to North Carolina with the Morris family, we planned a stop over in Maryland to visit my aunt Jane and uncle Ray. It was a fantastic visit - such a great start to a wonderful trip. Uncle Ray introduced Ella to softshell crabs, tomatoes off the vine and more. And we were all treated to a freak thunderstorm with awesome clouds and incredibly powerful winds, some of which Will caught on film.
